Once again, summertime offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the
outdoors.
The Voorhees Township Committee is pleased to welcome the summer of
2010 with our annual "Summer Twilight Series," with five
events scheduled for the "Great Lawn" at Connolly Park. This
year Voorhees Township presents "The Legends of Rock," a
four show series featuring music from four rock and roll legends.
The first show is Thursday, June 24, and will feature
Bruce in the USA, the world's #1 tribute to Bruce
Springsteen & The E Street Band. This high energy musical
experience is note perfect and a visual recreation of a Bruce
Springsteen & The E Street Band show. Clarence Clemens, who joined
the tribute band for a set in New York recently, claimed it was the
greatest tribute he's ever seen.
The tradition continues on Thursday, July 29, (rain
date July 30,) when Strawberry Fields comes to
Connolly Park for the first time ever. This group is billed as
"The Planet's Best Beatles Music Experience." This
Beatles Tribute Band was the only band chosen to celebrate the 40th
anniversary of the historic 1965 Beatles concert live at Shea Stadium!
On Friday, Aug. 13, (rain date Aug. 15,) Voorhees
Township welcomes another rock legend for the first time to our Summer
Twilight Series stage when "Satisfaction"
comes to town. This Rolling Stones tribute band recreates the history
and hit songs of the legendary Rolling Stones and draws thousands of
fans everywhere they play!
The "Legends of Rock" continues to roll on Thursday,
Aug. 26, (rain date Sept. 2,) with Big Shot,
New York's world class tribute to recording artist Billy Joel.
This show promises sounds strikingly similar to an actual Billy Joel
performance.
The Summer Twilight Series concludes with the Township's annual
Movie Night in the Park on Saturday, Sept.
25, (rain date of Saturday, Oct. 2.) The students in the
Voorhees Schools will vote on their favorite movie to be shown on the
"big screen."
The Township's "Summer Twilight Series" provides free
fun for all ages. All events are at Connolly Park on Centennial Blvd.
